On the last day of his life, July 15, 2024, 33-year-old Sean Miller had an interaction with another man that led to some sort of disagreement. Sean left the scene and the man followed him in his car until they got to East 29th and East R Street near the Emerald Queen Casino and Interstate-5.
There, the disagreement became violent and the man who had chased him down shot Sean multiple times. Lifesaving measures were attempted, but Sean Miller died on the scene becoming Tacoma’s 13th Tacoma homicide of 2024.
The man who followed Sean and shot him was quickly identified police. He retained a lawyer and was said to be cooperating with police. Though it has been almost a year since his death, the Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office has charged no one in this case.
Sean Miller was an outgoing, fun-loving guy. He’d be the guy to lighten the mood with a joke when needed. He was a plumber and salesman by trade, recently making Employee of the Month. But his passion was classic cars. His 1966 Chevy Nova was his pride and joy. His Nova with Sean behind the wheel could do the quarter mile in eight seconds. He had a deep love for his family and was a favorite uncle.
I didn’t know Sean and cannot share any memories of him, but that’s what the comment section is for. If you are a friend or relative of Sean and want to share thoughts and memories of him, please do.
