42nd Tacoma Homicide of 2022: Mason Hall
In December of 2022 30-year-old Mason Hall was living with his girlfriend. They had met back in 2016 at a homeless shelter. Since then they’d gotten jobs and found a home they could afford with a roommate. On the evening of December 11, 2022 Mason decided to go for a walk.
Mason was in the 1100 block of Cushman at around 8:35pm when a blue Honda pulled up and a man shot him once in the arm and once in the chest before driving off. Police responded to the report of gunshots in the area, but Mason was not located until the following morning by firefighters who initially believed Mason was a victim of a drug overdose until they discovered his wounds and a couple of shell casings nearby. Mason is the 42nd Tacoma homicide of 2022.
Police would later arrested a 22-year-old man. Mason was the first of two people shot that night by the same person in the same car. The other shooting occurred three hours later. The man is also implicated in another homicide. It would appear that Mason was a random victim of a man on a crime spree.
Mason was a quiet, easy-going guy. Even if he got mad, he was able to control himself. He was quiet and had few friends, but those he had were close. There is more to know about Mason. That’s why the comment section is moderated and reserved for those who knew him and want to share thoughts or memories of him.
