5 Question Friday With Layla Isaac From Ice Cream Social
About six months ago I asked Layla Isaac to participate in a 5 Question Friday with me. She’d just opened Ice Cream Social on Tacoma’s 6th Ave. I was in love with the ice cream there and like everything I love, I really wanted to tell the world about it.
It turns out that running an ice cream shop is a lot of hard work and it wasn’t until last week that she actually had time to join me for 5 Question Friday. Here’s Layla:
1. What is Ice Cream Social?
A gathering place for friends, families, to gather, build relationships, enjoy one another with our delicious, handcrafted, homemade, all natural, ice cream
2. How did Ice Cream Social get started?
It started as a vision to make people happy with food. Then evolved because of a need in Tacoma.
3. How is Ice Cream Social different from other ice creams shops?
We make a product that you can't find in other ice cream shops. Our ice cream is made from local milk and cream. We use only all natural ingredients in our ice cream, no artificial colors or flavors. It is handmade in small batches using as many local flavoring as we can.
4. What's your favorite ice cream flavor?
Oh so hard to pick just one! Port Soaked Fig with Balsamic reduction swirl or Brown Butter Pine Nut would be among my favorites.
5. What do you see for the future of Ice Cream Social?
We hope to have a few locations and packaged pints available in local grocery stores. Thanks.
