9th Tacoma Homicide of 2024: Jason Johnson Jr.
Jason Johnson Jr., 48 was a good guy. That’s what people who knew him said. He was the sort of guy who would help you out if he could. He liked to have a good time. He had his demons like we all do, but people who hung around Jason could see the decency of his soul.
No matter how long it had been since you last talked to him, he’d fall into the easy rhythm of the familiar conversation of people who saw each other daily. He had that way about him.
In the first hour of May 22, 2024, police responded to calls of a stabbing in the 1200 block of South 11th Street. They found Jason, with a stab wound to the neck. First responders transported him to a local hospital where he later died from his wounds. Jason Johnson Jr. is the ninth Tacoma homicide of 2024.
There aren’t a lot of details about the events leading up to Jason’s death because it remains unsolved at the time of this writing.
We don’t know who stabbed Jason or why they stabbed him. What we know is that someone took him from this world and has not been held responsible. If you were in the area at the time or know anything that might help authorities find Jason’s killer please don’t hesitate to contact the Tacoma Police Department at (253) 591-5959 or Pierce County Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
