Yeah, yeah, I know I haven’t updated the site in a while. On the upside no one has killed anyone in Tacoma in a while either so you have to take the good with the bad. However, it’s going to be a nice weekend this weekend and you know that good weather and Tacoma almost definitely means someone’s getting shot.
That’s not to say that there haven’t been any homicides lately. Just not in the city limits of Tacoma. I try not to deal with things outside of Tacoma if only because if I do, I’ll have to update this thing daily. Anyway, there are a few things recently that I’d like to mention.
-Jason Outler’s killer was found guilty Monday and will be sentenced on May 4. Here's hoping the sentence will be a long one. (Thanks to the News Tribune's Stacey Mulick for updating me on this)
-A man was found in a burned car somewhere near Yelm. The fire was suspicious. Police are investigating. For those of you taking notes, this is a hell of a way to kill someone. Middle of nowhere, no witnesses, a fire to get rid of the evidence. Then again, a fire is practically a big neon sign saying “Hey look! Investigate me!”
-Yesterday at the Stielicoom Ferry Dock, a suspicious item was found and the bomb squad was called in. It turned out to be a toy submarine and the bomb squad was forced to admit that no one is really trying to kill us after all. No word on weather or not the kid got his submarine back.
-There was a shooting in Lakewood at a party earlier this week. Word is the shooting was gang related. Color me shocked.
-Last but certainly not least, as you’ve no doubt heard someone posted an ad on Craig’s List telling people to come and take everything for free at a house on the East Side. Turns out it was a hoax. This story managed to hit the national news. It remains to be seen if this will cause others to pull similar hoaxes or people to realize that such hoaxes occur. As always, Tacoma leads the nation in weird-ass crime.
I’ll undoubtedly be posting something over the weekend about whoever is going to get killed. The first sunny weekend in a while always bumps up the crime rate.
